Final Model Pictures and Description

Overall shot of the site with both the gallery and both studio and gallery at rear of the site. The large black surface is the carpark which has 4 residential houses on it.

This is a front shot of the main gallerys on the site. The building is recessed (explained in previous post) and the front of the gallery has a glass facade to allow maximum sun exposure during time from 10am to 1pm.

Image of the interlocking of rooms, from the main galleries to the massive open glass gallery to the stairs which lead to under the glass gallery leading back down to the courtyard gallery down below.

The gallery and apartmen/studio interlocking via the outdoor courtyard connecting the gallery and apartment/studio together. The site was slplit into two sections gallery and residential due to factors such as noise polution. The front of the site due to the high traffic and public flow on Kingstreet being so noisey and the rear of the site being quiet and having a park across the road which can be used as inspiration by the artist.

Rear view of the site with the studio and apartment at the read. The wall and skin placed at rear to enclose the public while walking from front of the gallery and site to the rear. The skin is also to help with giving some sort of privacy to the pblic from the carpark. Also the skin can be used to frame views around Newtown while the public walk though the site.

The idea behind the skin used at the read of the site. The sense of framing views in between each opening is shown. This idea was to give the public walking though the site as a sense of making art with out actually physically touching or using anything to make art. It is more of a subconsious effort and they will notice after or during the process.
